The cause of the incident was the seizure of three service vehicles. Armed people, threatening with weapons, took them from traffic police inspectors. It is noted that these cars are equipped with special flashing beacons and sirens.

The following were stolen: two white TOYOTA Prius cars and one green SKODA Octavia.

According to unconfirmed reports, similar cases of theft of patrol cars could have occurred in Donetsk. However, there is no official confirmation of this information yet.

The traffic police department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine appealed to motorists with a request to be careful, since these vehicles may be used to commit crimes.
