Compared to how much the trip cost a year ago, the price of a train ticket from Simferopol to Kyiv in hryvnia equivalent has jumped fourfold. Previously, you paid 380 hryvnias for a ticket, but now it is 4,894 rubles, which equals 1,630 hryvnias.
On a number of other routes, the price increase turned out to be even more significant — up to seven times, noted in the Center for Investigative Journalism. At ticket offices, they explain this trend by the fact that calculations are now made according to the international tariffs of Russian Railways.
