All would be fine, but it turns out that to implement the idea, one billion hryvnias need to be spent. Of course, after the introduction of automatic photo-fixation systems, the funds received from fines will significantly exceed the costs. This is the main trump card of the law enforcement officers. According to their calculations, the annual income could amount to up to 20 billion hryvnias. Provided that Ukrainian drivers do not suddenly become law-abiding.
According to the head of the Department of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anatoliy Sirenko, “these funds can be returned to the state budget within two months. For photo-fixation to start working in Ukraine, we need to cover 2 thousand directions. This means not 2 thousand cameras, but precisely directions.”

Regarding the fight against corruption, representatives of the State Automobile Inspectorate clarified the following: filling the state treasury is not the most important thing in the scheme. The technical means of control over violators has a significant advantage – the absence of contact between the driver and the inspector. This is what should minimize the corruption component.
