Japanese engineers spent six months developing the prototype. However, it is too early to talk about series production — for now, Yamaha is only assessing how in-demand such a car, made mostly of carbon and weighing just 750 kg, will be.

It is worth noting that this is not the first attempt by Yamaha to enter the automotive market. In 2013, the Japanese already presented the compact model Motiv. Both concepts are based on iStream technology, which allows changing the platform dimensions without complex and costly reconfiguration of production lines, as well as updating the car's appearance by simply replacing body panels.

The Sports Ride Concept, showcased in Tokyo, is equipped with a 1-liter petrol engine. However, data on its dynamic characteristics has not yet been disclosed.
