The problem is that the image on the screen may become distorted, "freeze," or even disappear entirely — software defects are to blame.

The recall affects several well-known models at once: from Bronco, Edge, and Escape to Mustang, Mach-E, F-150, as well as premium Lincoln Navigator and Corsair. At least one incident has already caused an accident, and more than 30 owners of F-150 pickups (2021–2023 model years) have reported these issues.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an official recall campaign. At Ford dealerships, all vehicles will receive a free software update designed to fix this defect.

To prevent similar flaws in the future, Ford has integrated artificial intelligence into quality control. Production lines now feature the Vision system based on IBM Maximo — it can detect even a missing badge or an uneven panel before the car leaves the assembly line.
