The presentation of the new Zeekr charging station is scheduled for April 23 as part of the auto show in Shanghai. The maximum output of this development reaches 1.2 MW. As the head of the company Zhao Yuhei said, each such station will have ten connectors that will provide power to cars at a very high speed. Thus, electric vehicles will be able to replenish their energy supply almost instantly.

To assess the scale, let us recall: current Tesla Superchargers deliver up to 500 kW, and the previously presented BYD station — 1 MW. Zeekr has surpassed both competitors thanks to a modern liquid cooling system that allows transmitting such significant power without losses.

This project will not remain on paper — already from the second quarter of this year, the construction of the first facilities will start in China. By 2026, the company plans to deploy up to 6,000 such charging complexes, whose indicators will range from 800 kW to 1.2 MW.

However, currently, no car from the assembly line can fully use such a charging rate. Even the newest models of Zeekr itself support a maximum of 500 kW, and the leaders here are still some BYD versions with the ability to charge at 1 MW. So it seems that Zeekr is deliberately creating infrastructure for growth, focusing on future generations of electric cars.
