The donor for the experimental hybrid was a new commercial vehicle UAZ Profi, with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tons, serial production of which is planned to begin in September 2017.

The concept presented in "cutaway" is equipped with a gasoline engine, a starter-generator unit with a power of 84 kW, a traction electric motor with a power of 105 kW and a torque of 469 Nm, as well as a high-voltage battery pack of 25 kW.
In addition, the hybrid UAZ is equipped with systems for monitoring unintentional lane departure and the distance to the vehicle ahead, as well as a function for recognizing road signs, traffic lights, and pedestrians.
UAZ predicts that the introduction of hybrid technologies will reduce the average fuel consumption of Ulyanovsk SUVs to 7 liters, while the range will increase to 1000 km, with 100 of them possible on electric power alone.
The first test copies of the UAZ Profi hybrid are planned to be released in 2019.
