The new subframe, made of carbon fiber, weighs 34% less than a similar steel part. At the same time, the design includes only 6 elements instead of the previous 45, which means a reduction in the number of components by 87%.

Magna is currently testing this new part, checking its strength characteristics, corrosion resistance, and other key parameters.

Which specific Ford models will be the first to get the carbon fiber subframe remains unknown for now.
