Automotive concerns BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company and Volkswagen Group announced their intention to jointly create a network of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles.
At the start of the project, it is planned to launch 400 charging stations of the CCS (Combined Charging System) standard, which is compatible with most current electric vehicles and can provide power up to 350 kW. By 2020, the number of such stations is planned to be increased to several thousand.
The companies emphasized that the joint infrastructure being created will contribute to the growth of demand for electric cars and make their use much more convenient.
