The hood with a "sticky" effect received a special coating that, at the moment of contact with the car, actually fixes the pedestrian on the hood surface.

As explained at Google, this development is designed to reduce the risk of injuries from so-called "secondary impacts" — situations when, after the initial collision, a person is thrown by inertia onto the windshield, onto the asphalt, or under the wheels of neighboring cars.

The patent documentation states that the front bumper, fenders, and hood will be equipped with a layer of miniature honeycombs filled with an adhesive compound. On top, this layer is covered by a barely noticeable protective film that prevents insects from sticking to the surface. However, in the event of an accident, as company representatives claim, the pedestrian tears off the protective barrier, and then a substance protrudes that "glues" the victim to the car.
