The car, which will take part in races as early as next year, is based on the "civilian" Corsa-e. It is equipped with the same electric motor — the maximum power is 136 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque, the battery capacity is 50 kilowatt-hours. The rally Corsa accelerates from standstill to 100 kilometers per hour in 8.1 seconds.

According to Opel CEO Michael Lohscheller, the new Corsa-e is an electric car "for everyone." It is suitable both for everyday driving and for participation in sports competitions, and in addition, it remains affordable for everyone, especially for young drivers.

Next year, the manufacturer plans to build 15 examples of the rally car, which will compete in the 2020-2021 season. The price of the new product has not yet been disclosed, but the manufacturer promises that it will be below 50,000 euros.
