On the last lap, already in the final turn, John Hunter Nemechek made a hard attack on rival Cole Custer and pushed him off the track. The cars crossed the finish line literally wheel-to-wheel, but Nemechek was first.

After the race ended, Custer immediately headed to the culprit of the incident, intending to resolve the matter by force, but the marshals who arrived did not let the conflict escalate into a fight.
