The competition will feature vehicles with electric motors. It is expected that racing electric cars will be built on the basis of regular production cars.
The basis for the new series was taken from the Tesla Model S sedan in the P85+ trim with an output of 420 horsepower. Such an electric car accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. The engine for racing will not be specially modified. However, the chassis and braking system will be upgraded.
The organizers explained that they chose the Tesla Model S because of its worldwide fame and strong technical parameters. The first season will consist of seven stages, which will be held on tracks in Europe, America, and Asia.
