Let us remind you that this discipline involves paired races over a distance of 402 meters (a quarter mile) on a straight track. The competitions were held under the auspices of the FAU, which ensured their official status and a high level of organization. Among the participants, racers from Russia, Belarus, and Moldova were traditionally represented.
The main events of the competition were two record results over the 402-meter distance among CIS countries on professionally prepared cars:
- in the rear-wheel drive category — Slyusar Oleg (Kyiv) on BMW M3(E30) — 8.78 seconds;
- in the all-wheel drive category — Kravchenko Andrey (Donetsk) on Nissan Skyline GT-R(R32) — 8.19 seconds.
It is important to note that these results were achieved on a concrete surface without the use of special glue, which is usually applied to improve traction with the track.
A clear confirmation of this is provided by two videos of the record runs, where emotions were literally running high:
All that remains is to rejoice for our compatriots and wish them further success!
