The design of the car is the work of Jason Castriota (known for the Ferrari P4/5), and the Tuatara is his second car. In Monterey, only the so-called "designer" version of the car was presented. The production version will be equipped with a custom-made seven-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that will produce an incredible 1,350 horsepower.
The car features a carbon fiber subframe and one-piece carbon fiber wheels. The company's founder, Jerod Shelby, reports that five people have already placed pre-orders for this car. The car will be assembled at a factory in Washington state at a rate of 16 units per year. First deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2013.
