The reason for the recall was a possible failure of the electronic brake booster (EBB). Due to this malfunction, additional force when pressing the brake pedal may disappear, and thus the braking distance may increase. The danger is that the failure occurs suddenly — both in normal driving and during the operation of driver assistance systems.
The company promised that the procedure will be free of charge for owners of such cars: specialists will update the software of the corresponding unit to eliminate the risk.
This information matters for drivers in Ukraine, since Ford is among the fairly common brands, and cars are often brought from the USA, including the F-150 and Bronco models.
