The detected malfunction impairs the operation of the brake system and limits the driver's ability to stop the vehicle in a timely manner. As noted by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the cause lies in possible damage to the brake hose, which occurs due to dirt or foreign particles getting into the space between the rear hose and the wheel.
The recall covers all-wheel-drive Toyota Tacoma pickups of the 2024 and 2025 model years. If the defect occurs, brake fluid leakage is possible, which calls into question the reliability of the entire brake system. To fix the problem, official dealers will replace both rear brake hoses free of charge on all vehicles covered by this campaign.
Toyota Tacoma owners can find out whether their vehicle is affected by this recall by entering the VIN code on the NHTSA website.
Given that there are extremely few such pickups in Ukraine, Toyota owners are unlikely to have anything to worry about.
