Yulian works as a courier at Glovo. After finishing his workday, he stopped at a gas station with friends — they needed to refuel the car and also buy some lottery tickets. Among others, there was an instant lottery ticket "Cards in Hand" from the operator "M.S.L.". It was in this ticket that the win was found — half a million hryvnias. The winner decided to share the money with his friend Ivan Hladikov. With the winnings, the guys plan to buy new cars.

"That night, Vanya and I bought several tickets and promised each other: if we get lucky, we'll split the prize equally," recalls Yulian. "We got small wins, but we decided not to cash them out, but to spend them on new lotteries. And then we look — one of the tickets has 500,000.

When I saw the amount, I couldn't believe that something like this could happen to me. It's just unreal! Then I showed the ticket to Vanya, then to the cashier, and only then did I realize: we got lu-cky! We won right at the gas station! The cashier, I think, was also in complete shock."

This event itself is notable not for the size of the prize — in "M.S.L." lotteries, much more serious amounts have been drawn. The interest here is different: where exactly the lucky ticket was purchased.

Selling lotteries at gas stations is a global practice that is gaining momentum in Ukraine as well. For example, in the USA, where more than half of the adult population participates in lotteries, gas stations are one of the most popular places to buy instant tickets.

As for Ukraine, state lotteries are currently available online at msl.ua, at branded "M.S.L." points of sale, as well as in supermarkets and at gas stations.
