On Saturday, May 8, according to Sinoptik.ua, precipitation is expected almost throughout Ukraine, except for the western regions and part of the central regions. Along with the rains, a western wind will blow, with speeds reaching 9 m/s in places.
On Sunday, when Mother's Day and Victory Day over Nazism in World War II are celebrated, rains will stop everywhere except Crimea and some eastern areas. Forecasters promise mostly sunny weather with light cloudiness. The maximum air temperature during the day on May 9 will be +18°C in Zakarpattia, and the minimum – +13°C in Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
On Monday it will become even warmer by a few degrees: in Zakarpattia thermometers will rise to +25°C, in Donetsk region – to +13°C.
Next week a steady temperature increase is expected, but on May 14-15 the warming may be marred by strong magnetic storms.
Our ancestors relied on folk signs that were quite accurate, and about May they said: "Cold May – you won't be hungry." If global warming does not confirm, then it is even for the better.
In the west of the country on Saturday it will become cooler, daytime +11…+13°C, strong wind with gusts up to 9 m/s. Rains will pass in Volyn, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. On May 9 the air will warm up to +18°C, and on May 10 – to +22°C. The water temperature in the Tisza River near Rakhiv will be +4°C.
In the southern regions on May 8 heavy rains are expected, wind gusts up to 8 m/s are possible. On May 9-10 the weather will improve, mostly clear, daytime up to +18°C. The water temperature in the Black Sea near Odesa is +13°C. Near Kyrylivka the Sea of Azov will warm up to +14°C.
In the east of the country rains will pass on May 8. On Sunday, May 9, bad weather will persist in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The week will start with warming up to +17°C, the sky will be clear everywhere, but in Luhansk region there will be less sun.
In the central and northern part of Ukraine on May 8 it will be cool, daytime +12..+14°C, rains, southwest wind up to 7 m/s. On May 9-10 active warming will begin, clear weather will set in, and on Monday comfortable +17…+18°C without precipitation are expected.
In Kyiv on Saturday, May 8, it will get colder, daytime temperature will be +12°C, west wind up to 8 m/s. On May 9 it will be a little warmer, +14°C, rains will stop and there will be more sun. Real warmth will come next week, on Monday already +17°C, the wind will be light. The water temperature in the Dnipro is +11°C.
