This is the best result in the history of the project, which the company has been implementing for 7 years in a row. In 2019, the volume of used items collected increased by a third compared to the previous year's figure.
The OKKO network installs special containers at its gas stations, where every customer, while stopping for fuel, can leave used clothing, shoes, bed linen, and other items. Currently, such containers are installed at 23 gas station complexes in 6 cities - Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Mariupol. The addresses of the gas stations can be found here.
The project is carried out in cooperation with volunteer and charitable organizations that pick up used items from gas stations, sort them, and distribute them free of charge to those in need. Currently, OKKO's partners are "Emaus-Oselia", "Ukraina bez mezh", "Dobryi samarianyn", and "Dopomahaiemo". The company is ready to develop the same social activities in other regions.
"Containers at gas stations solve several problems at once: giving old items a new life and supporting those in need. Moreover, it is an opportunity for every customer and colleague to become a philanthropist and help others," says Yaroslava Poliakova, Head of Corporate Communications Department at OKKO. "We are happy to see that the volume of aid only grows year after year, which means we manage to make the world a bit more humane and better."
Let us remind you that in 2018, it was for this project that the OKKO network was recognized as the winner of the National Competition of Business Cases on Corporate Social Responsibility "Business that Changes the Country" in the nomination "Reducing Inequality".
