The purpose of the tests was to confirm that the power of the bi-fuel engine is not lower than the original and to evaluate cost savings and the payback period of the gas-diesel system.
The tests were carried out in a field that had not been cultivated for 10 years, while working with mounted equipment standardly used in tillage: a reversible three-furrow plow, a tooth harrow and mulching rollers (six meters wide), alternately in diesel operating mode, then in gas-diesel mode.
The test results showed that in both cases the tractor power remained the same - 88 horsepower. Diesel fuel consumption was 18 liters per hour, gas-diesel - 19 liters per hour (14 liters of diesel + 5 liters of gas, i.e. gas consumption is 20 percent of total fuel consumption).
Thus, with the current average cost of diesel at 25 hryvnias per liter and gas at 11 hryvnias per liter, the savings amount to 40 hryvnias per hour. With average tractor operation of 8:00 hours per day, the payback of gas cylinder equipment will be approximately 100 working days. After 100 days of work, real fuel savings begin! Without loss of power and with preservation of tillage quality.
It should be noted that this is the first tractor Belarus in Ukraine with industrially installed LPG equipment, with warranty support from the manufacturer for both the tractor itself and the LPG equipment.
The gas cylinder equipment was developed specifically for this tractor model and consists of components from world-renowned companies: control unit and electronics from AEB, reducer Tomasetto Achille, injectors Hana, multivalve OMB with additional valves and level indicators, additional exhaust gas temperature sensor Bosch, thermo-plastic tubes and fittings from Alex.
Depending on the final goals of use, gas cylinders of various volumes can be installed on tractors, both on the sides and at the rear. To control mounted equipment, a rear view camera with a monitor in the cabin can be installed.
