Skoda has developed a new technology designed to help drivers suffering from allergies. For now, only the Scala hatchback has received the new feature, Carscoops reports. The smart climate control has been equipped with a special sensor and filter that can detect pollen. After that, the system can automatically shut off the air intakes, preventing pollen from entering the cabin. At the same time, the climate control will set a comfortable temperature in the car.

Skoda explained that allergies cause coughing, sneezing, and itchy eyes. All these symptoms negatively affect road safety. In turn, many allergy medications can cause drowsiness in the driver. The company believes that the new feature will have a positive impact on the comfort and safety of car owners.

In addition, the Scala has been equipped with special sensors that can determine the direction of sunlight and its intensity. Depending on this, the climate system can set the optimal temperature for each part of the hatchback's cabin individually.
