The new generation Cadillac Escalade will receive an electric modification. According to preliminary data, in terms of driving range on a single charge, the SUV will surpass the Tesla Model X by 100 kilometers.
As an anonymous source in the company told the Cadillac Society website, the new model's range will be about 643 kilometers. If the Escalade really gets such a resource, it will be serious competition for the Tesla Model X crossover, whose range is 542 kilometers. Although, if the information about the battery-powered Cadillac is confirmed, Elon Musk's company will most likely release an update for the Model X with an increased range.
In addition to the fully electric powertrain, according to the insider, the equipment of the electric SUV of the latest generation will also include the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance system.

The fifth generation Escalade is promised to be shown next year. According to preliminary data, one of the gasoline versions will receive an engine from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. There is no data yet on what the final output of the engine for the SUV will be, but on the coupe, the 6.5-liter V8 produces 659 horsepower. In addition to this engine, a "calmer" engine is expected in the engine range — we are talking about a 4.2-liter Blackwing "eight" with a capacity of 557 horsepower.
According to sources, the manufacturer will not combine all premieres into one — first, the official debut of gasoline versions will take place, and the electric version of the SUV will be presented when the base models are already on sale.
