This stimulates sales growth in different countries around the world. Ukraine is no exception, where after a noticeable decline in sales, a new growth has begun.

We conducted a detailed analysis of the Ukrainian market for cars from China, which allowed us to create a rating of the best Chinese cars available in our country. When compiling the rating, a number of indicators were taken into account:

 

  • Sales volume.
  • Cost.
  • Reliability and safety.
  • Technical characteristics.

 

Based on the available data, a current list of cars that can rightfully be called the best was compiled.

1. Chery Tiggo 2

The compact crossover Chery Tiggo 2 was first presented to the public in 2016. By 2018, it had taken a leading position in the Ukrainian market in terms of sales volume with an indicator of more than 350 cars per year. Sales growth is facilitated by a far from budget design and excellent characteristics at a minimal price.

It is especially worth noting the technical data of this model:

 

  • Gasoline four-cylinder sixteen-valve engine with a volume of 1.5 liters.
  • Power 106 hp.
  • Front-wheel drive combined with a 5-speed manual transmission (or automatic transmission in the Luxury trim).
  • Front suspension – independent, McPherson type with stabilizer.
  • Rear suspension – dependent, with shock absorber.
  • Front brakes – ventilated disc.
  • Rear brakes – disc.
  • Fuel consumption up to 6.1 liters per 100 km in the combined cycle.
  • Maximum speed – 170 km/h.
  • Acceleration to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds.

 

This 5-seat hatchback in terms of equipment and safety practically does not yield to famous European brands, but has a loyal price, which largely contributes to the popularity of the model. In particular, it received a EuroNCAP rating of 75/100, which corresponds to 4 stars out of 5 possible.

It can be used as a family car due to its spaciousness, as well as for trips to nature – cross-country ability is at a high level.

2. Geely Emgrand EC7

A representative 5-seat sedan with an impressive design. Geely Emgrand EC7 in terms of sales volume is inferior to the leader of the rating by 100 cars.

Technical characteristics are at a high level:

 

  • Gasoline four-cylinder sixteen-valve engine with a volume of 1.8 liters.
  • Power – 126 hp.
  • Front-wheel drive combined with a 5-speed manual transmission.
  • Front/rear suspension – independent spring/semi-independent spring.
  • Brakes – disc.
  • Fuel consumption in the combined cycle – 7.6 l/100 km.
  • Maximum speed – 180 km/h.
  • Acceleration to 100 km/h in 12.8 seconds.

 

The presented D-class car passed the EuroNCAP test without problems, losing only 2 points to the main competitor, scoring 73/100 (4 stars). It is great for business trips or personal use.

3. The third place was shared by 3 Chery Tiggo models at once – 7, 3, 5.

Their sales level in Ukraine is approximately the same, and technical characteristics are quite comparable. Differences can be observed in the exterior and interior, but otherwise the cars are very similar.

  • Gasoline four-cylinder sixteen-valve engine with a volume of 2 liters (or 1.5-liter turbocharged).
  • Power – 136 hp.
  • Front-wheel drive combined with a 5-speed manual transmission or continuously variable transmission.
  • Front/rear suspension – independent spring/independent multi-link.
  • Front/rear brakes – ventilated disc/disc.
  • Fuel consumption in the combined cycle – 6.5 l/100 km.
  • Maximum speed – 170 km/h.
  • Acceleration to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds.

 

The presented J-class cars are great both for city driving and for off-road trips. The safety of the car can also be noted – 70/100 points (4 stars) according to the EuroNCAP rating.

4. Great Wall Haval M4

The Great Wall Haval M4 SUV became popular due to its well-designed design and relatively affordable price.

Not the last role in getting into the rating was played by the technical characteristics of the model:

 

  • Gasoline four-cylinder sixteen-valve engine with a volume of 1.5 liters.
  • Power 105 hp.
  • Front-wheel drive with 5-speed manual transmission.
  • Front/rear suspension – independent, McPherson type/torsion beam.
  • Front/rear brakes – ventilated disc/disc.
  • Fuel consumption in the combined cycle – 7.2 l/100 km.
  • Maximum speed – 156 km/h.
  • Acceleration to 100 km/h in 14.1 seconds.

 

The presented car is perfect for those who prefer comfort even when driving off-road. The safety of the car meets European requirements.

5. Great Wall Voleex C30

Great Wall Voleex C30 is a 5-seat sedan with a simple, but no less attractive design. It is bought less often than its main competitors from the rating, but better than a number of other cars.

  • Front-wheel drive combined with a 5-speed manual transmission or 6-speed CVT.
  • Front/rear suspension – independent, McPherson type/longitudinal arm torsion beam.
  • Front/rear brakes – disc.
  • Fuel consumption in the combined cycle – 6.8 l/100 km.
  • Maximum speed -170 km/h.
  • Acceleration to 100 km/h in 10.2 seconds.

 

We will continue to monitor the Chinese car market. Today, Chery occupies a leading position, but every day more and more worthy contenders appear.
