This time, the company urges drivers and pedestrians to give up using smartphones and other gadgets while in traffic. Thanks to a specially developed VR test, customers of OKKO gas stations in 5 cities of the country and on the Kyiv-Odesa highway will see what consequences messaging, shooting stories, and surfing the internet can lead to for road users. The tour across Ukrainian cities will last until the end of March.

“Statistics from the World Health Organization show that, on average, one in four accidents worldwide is caused by drivers and pedestrians being distracted from the road. We lose vigilance partly because of phones. In Ukraine, unfortunately, the problem is no less urgent than in the world. To see this, it is enough to look around. That is why this year we focused on the topic of not using gadgets,” says Yaroslava Polyakova, head of the corporate communications department of the OKKO gas station network. “We really hope that our Umolyashka and its call ‘I beg you, don’t get distracted’ will make each of us think – and the temporary ‘detox’ will grow into a permanent rule of life.”

In Kyiv, the project started at three gas stations at once – 33 Akademika Palladina Ave., 5 Generala Vatutina Ave., and 8 Dniprovska Naberezhna St. Next on the schedule are gas stations in Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and on the Kyiv-Odesa highway.

In each city, over two days, visitors to the filling stations will be able to immerse themselves in the virtual world of traffic and take part in an educational test using special equipment. The video scenario is designed so that the viewer can independently choose the course of events and influence the outcome. To experience all possible situations, guests will need up to 8 minutes.
