In 2017, Geely achieved high results and record sales, with the company's revenue for the year totaling $41.1 billion. The record sales were brought by the main controlled divisions: Geely Auto and Volvo Cars. Thus, the Chinese division Geely Auto sold more than 1.24 million cars, which is 63% more than the results for the same period of the previous year, and sales of the Swedish group Volvo grew by 7% and reached 571,577 cars.

Geely Holding continues to grow confidently, so over the last six months, sales of the Geely Auto division amounted to 766,630 cars, which is 45% more than the same period of the previous year. In turn, Volvo Cars significantly increased sales pace due to the repeatedly award-winning models XC40, XC60 and XC90, whose sales volume reached 317,639 units, which is 14.4% more than the results for the same period of the previous year.

Among other achievements of Geely Holding, one should note the success of the very young automotive brand LYNK & CO, developed by the divisions of Volvo Cars and Geely Auto for a new generation of urban motorists. Sales volume in the first half of 2018 reached 46,252 cars.

Over the past year, Geely Holding completed several acquisition and merger deals that expanded the Group's global presence. Thus, the American company Terrafugia, which was engaged in the development and production of flying cars, was acquired, as well as 51% of the controlling stake in the British company Lotus, an iconic sports car brand, and 49.9% of shares in the Malaysian automaker Proton. The Group also made strategic investments in the Danish investment bank Saxo Bank and in the Swedish commercial vehicle concern AB Volvo. In addition, Geely became the largest shareholder of the German automotive corporation Daimler AG.

Last year, the Chinese automotive group entered the private transportation market (similar to Uber) under the branded program Cao Cao. In just a year, the company covered 25 cities with a fleet of more than 26,000 new energy-efficient electric vehicles. And the taxi and commercial vehicle division - LEVC, launched its electrified taxi E-City TX with increased range from a single charge.

Recall that recently Geely Auto launched production of the flagship smart hybrid Bo Rui GE, presented several energy-efficient models with a range of up to 450 km on a single charge, and also stated that by 2020 it will offer the world at least 30 new energy-efficient models.
