The Musso is built on the same platform as the new Rexton. Thanks to the reinforced Quad Frame body structure, the vehicle has excellent off-road driving characteristics and a high level of safety.

“We are pleased to offer pickup fans another completely new sports model – the sturdy and durable Musso. The Musso stands out favorably among competing models with its safety systems, modern functionality, power and versatility. We hope to repeat the success of the new Musso in Europe, where sales started in Korea in January this year,” said CEO Choi.

The new Musso is equipped with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine producing 181 hp. The vehicle is available with a six-speed manual or a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission. Additional safety options that help avoid collisions include driver assistance systems for lane changing, reversing out of parking spaces, and detection of objects outside the driver's field of vision.

e-SIV electric concept car

•    Concept of a compact class electric sports SUV

•    The new model confirms SsangYong's development vector – mobility, development of new products and technologies

•    Design concept “New Horizons, Intelligent Dynamism”

The new e-SIV concept car, showcased at the Geneva Motor Show, is a strategic model for SsangYong, demonstrating the brand's future approach to electric vehicles, internet connectivity and autonomous driving.

As a manufacturer specializing in sports off-road vehicles, SsangYong has developed a wide range of models intended for use on paved roads, off-road, in urban conditions and for recreation outside the city. The e-SIV is an electric compact crossover and is the fifth electric concept car demonstrated by the company. Previous models include KEV1 (2010), KEV2 (2011), e-XIV (2012), and Tivoli EV-R (2015).

The e-SIV model, short for “Electric Smart Interface Vehicle,” was developed to demonstrate SsangYong's chosen approach to creating technological solutions that involve connecting the vehicle to the internet and autonomous driving.

Through the design concept “New Horizons, Intelligent Dynamism,” the e-SIV demonstrates the future appearance of SsangYong electric sports SUVs.

The e-SIV is the realization of the idea of a vehicle intended for busy people. SsangYong sought to create a vehicle with a “smart interface” that seamlessly combines with the latest technologies, which will become a mobile communication space in the future. SsangYong intends to create a vehicle for people and the future using voice recognition technologies based on machine learning, e-commerce, the internet and the latest autonomous navigation system.

The autonomous driving technology used in the e-SIV uses a system that includes radar and a video camera sensor. This second-generation autonomous driving technology recognizes the vehicle and the lane it is in, and can maintain a safe distance between it and other vehicles on the road. In the future, this system can be equipped with an additional sensor to improve the automatic lane selection and active driving functions, which will allow the creation of a third-generation autonomous driving system.

The connectivity function used in the e-SIV consists of three main elements, and includes remote charging of the vehicle's battery with monitoring of the charging process through a smart mobile application based on LTE communication with a specialized electric vehicle service.

The telematics service provides remote control of a number of functions. This includes turning power on and off, vehicle diagnostics, vehicle control, emergency driving in the event of an accident, and driver safety support.

The third element of the connectivity function is the infotainment system. It is equipped with a personalization function that allows you to customize system service parameters for the user's personal convenience through machine learning and voice recognition via cloud technologies. Products from partner manufacturers are used here to organize control of the music system and radio, as well as remote control of comfort and safety systems.

The overall length of the vehicle is 4460 mm, width - 1870 mm, wheelbase - 2680 mm. The e-SIV is equipped with a 190-horsepower electric motor and a battery pack with a capacity of 61.6 kWh. You can replenish the electric car's battery charge to 80% from a fast charging system in 50 minutes. The maximum speed of the crossover is 150 km/h. The range is 450 km.
