This year, victory in this demanding comparative test was awarded to the Opel Insignia, which received the highest rating of five snowflakes and a total score of 8.8 out of 10.
This year, 14 candidates were selected for the rigorous tests, all new models introduced during 2017 in versions with the most popular engines and transmission options. Over the course of a month, the competitors underwent testing in laboratory tests and on the Ivalo test track, known as the "White Hell," as well as on regular roads in Lapland.
And as a result, the latest generation of the Opel Insignia managed to outshine all its rivals.
According to the final decision of Tekniikan Maailma, the Insignia "is a great success in all winter tests." The Opel flagship received the highest scores for heating, handling, and braking systems. In addition, the model received high praise for convenience and comfort even during long trips.
"The success of our Insignia is an excellent event, although it was not a big surprise for us," says Rami Kittila, Managing Director of Opel Finland. "We knew that the new generation Insignia is an ideal choice, regardless of weather conditions and temperature, and in both sweltering heat and freezing cold, all Opel Insignia systems work flawlessly."
