In February, Vinnytsia added to the list of cities where caring Ukrainians can share items they no longer need but that may still be useful to others with low-income people. Two new containers appeared at OKKO gas stations at the following addresses: Pirohova St., 121 and 600-richchia St., 5. Thus, the network will now operate 18 containers for collecting items in 6 cities: Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.

The partner for installing containers in Vinnytsia was the public organization Ukrainian Volunteer Movement. Under its care are numerous vulnerable groups: orphans, cancer patients, lonely elderly people, disabled children, and low-income families.

"By installing containers at its gas stations, the OKKO network has done a noble deed. When big business gets involved in charity, it allows attracting even more people to volunteering," notes Diana Moroz, head of the public organization Ukrainian Volunteer Movement.

Used clothing, shoes, bed linen, books, and dishes that OKKO customers leave in special containers are significant help for the needy. Caring Ukrainians understand this and are increasingly sharing items with those in need. Thus, in 2017, 138.8 tons of items were transferred to volunteer organizations that care for the least socially protected citizens. This is 37 tons more than was collected in the previous year.

Leaving used items at a gas station is very convenient for many drivers, as it allows doing a good deed easily and quickly. Their further sorting and distribution are handled by charitable public organizations with which the OKKO network has established partnerships.

"We are glad that we managed to unite business, volunteer organizations, company employees, and caring customers to work on a joint noble mission. It is pleasant to see that everyone realizes the importance of helping those in need and the significance of their contribution to the common cause," says Anna Tykhovska, sustainable development manager of the OKKO gas station network.
