The new A6 has fully retained its recognizable appearance; the design changes are more in line with a deep restyling than a generational change.
The "Six" has moved to the MLB Evo platform and has slightly increased in all dimensions. The length of the model is 4939 mm (+7), width – 1886 (+12), and height 1457 (+2). The wheelbase has increased to 2924 mm (+12).
The interior is practically no different from the cabin of the new Audi A7 Sportback. The sedan gets two touchscreen displays of 10 and 8.6 inches, as well as a fully digital instrument panel occupying a 12-inch screen.
At first, the new A6 will be available only with two engines. The petrol version 55 TFSI gets a three-liter turbo engine producing 350 hp and 500 Nm, paired with a 7-speed S-tronic "robot".
The diesel modification 50 TDI is equipped with a 3.0 engine developing 286 hp and 620 Nm. The diesel is paired with an 8-speed ZF "automatic".
The permanent all-wheel drive system quattro with a mechanical center differential is now offered only for the diesel A6. The petrol version is content with plug-in all-wheel drive quattro ultra with a center clutch.
Already in the basic configuration, the A6 has fully LED optics, and for an additional charge you can get matrix and matrix-laser headlights. Also, the list of options includes an automatic parking function that does not require a driver behind the wheel.
Sales of the new Audi A6 will start in early summer. The price of the diesel version starts from 58,050 euros. Prices for petrol "sixes" have not yet been announced.
