On August 25, 2017, one of the largest strongman tournaments in Ukraine took place on Freedom Avenue in Lutsk — the 2017 Ukrainian Team Strongman Championship. The organizers were the Strongman Federation of Ukraine and the public association "Volfest", and the official partner of the event was the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Center "ATLANT".
Six powerlifting teams participated in the competition for the title of the strongest strongman team in Ukraine in 2017. The tournament opened with the most spectacular and challenging test — arm-over-arm, that is, pulling a Mercedes-Benz Actros truck weighing more than 8 tons. The truck was pulled by two athletes from each team over a distance of up to 20 meters. The participants showed not only physical power, but also a true team spirit, as well as the unity of the Ukrainian nation, whose representatives have more than once become the strongest people on the planet.
The chief judge of the tournament was Vasyl Virastiuk — the holder of the titles "The World's Strongest Man" 2004, "The Strongest Man of Ukraine" (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005) and an Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine.
The Strongman Federation of Ukraine and the public association "Volfest" annually hold national strongman championships to promote a healthy lifestyle by the example of strongmen known in Ukraine and the world.
