Worldwide sales of Hyundai Motor in April 2017 reached 364,225 vehicles. This figure was 11.7% lower than in the same month a year earlier, as evidenced by the report of the South Korean automaker.
In the domestic market of South Korea, the company showed growth of 1.5% year-on-year. This result was largely driven by the updated version of the Sonata model, which enjoyed decent demand. However, outside the country the situation was different: due to weak global demand and low growth rates in emerging markets, overseas sales fell by 13.9% compared to last year, amounting to 303,864 units.
As for the Ukrainian market, according to the analytical agency "Autoconsulting", in April 2017, 351 cars of this brand were sold. This is 51.07% more than in April 2016. Hyundai's share in the Ukrainian market at the end of April reached 5.32%. The bestseller of the brand in Ukraine was the Tucson crossover, which was chosen by 154 buyers.
Hyundai Motor plans to further strengthen its position in the business and respond promptly to changes taking place in the global automotive market. In addition, the company intends to focus on increasing sales of key models and bringing new products to the market.
