The era of legendary body-on-frame SUVs is coming to an end. Only a few manufacturers, including SsangYong, continue to produce all-wheel-drive SUVs with a frame construction. SsangYong Rexton W is one of such models.
In 2017, SsangYong Motor is completing production of the existing generation of SsangYong Rexton W. In 2018, sales of the new Rexton will begin, but it will already be a vehicle with a unibody construction. It is also expected that the new generation Rexton will increase in size, receive a number of options available only in the premium segment, which will naturally be reflected in its higher price.
Meanwhile, enthusiasts of all-wheel-drive body-on-frame SUVs still have the opportunity to appreciate the advantages of a full-fledged all-wheel drive. The AIS group of companies will offer customers the final release of SsangYong Rexton W in a special limited Prestige version.
The vehicles will be equipped with a two-liter powerful and at the same time economical D20DTR turbodiesel with an electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger (E-VGT) and common rail fuel injection. The vehicle will receive an automatic transmission manufactured under a Mercedes-Benz license – T-Tronic with the possibility of manual gear shifting and a 4WD Part-Time all-wheel drive system with a Winter Mode.
The almost three-ton vehicle accelerates to 100 km/h in just 11.5 seconds. And fuel consumption in the urban cycle is 9.3 liters per 100 km.*
The SsangYong Rexton was developed on the Mercedes-Benz M-Class platform and has absorbed all the advantages and benefits of its “big brother”.
The limited Prestige version will receive a “bad roads” package, including anti-gravel underbody coating, reinforced suspension, front and rear wheel arch liners. A “professional off-road driving” package, which includes ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), ESP (electronic stability program), ARP (active rollover protection), HDC (electronic system that reduces vehicle speed on descents).
Driving comfort will be ensured by climate control, cruise control, heated lower windshield, rear-view mirror with anti-glare function + rain sensor and light sensor, heated front and rear seats, power steering with Speed Sensor Power Steering function, automatic folding of exterior rear-view mirrors (heated + electric drive), parking sensors.
The Rexton W Prestige will stand out in traffic thanks to LED daytime running lights, roof rails, rear spoiler, front and rear fog lights, alloy wheels and factory tinting of the rear windows and tailgate.
The vehicle will receive an ANDROID Gazer CM50-W2 multimedia system with built-in navigation, an audio system with 6 speakers, Bluetooth, and audio controls on the steering wheel.
Sales of the SsangYong Rexton W Prestige in Ukraine are scheduled to start in April 2017.
