Others frantically try to buy a battery in Kyiv without delving into whether the offered option suits their car. After all, no one expected the failure, no extra money is saved, and you want to buy cheaper.

In stores and online stores, in a hurry, they can offer a large selection of car batteries of different price categories and parameters, which according to their catalogs are suitable for your car. But you should not always trust sellers’ catalogs, especially since they list several options of different battery types, and you want it inexpensive. Because in case of a breakdown, you will contact not the seller, but a specialized service center, and they have different catalogs and may refuse warranty due to incorrect selection. Let’s give examples of the dependence of battery capacity on the engine displacement of European cars running on gasoline.
1. 45-54 amperes, 207 mm long, fits cars with engines up to 1.3 liters.
2. 55-65 amperes, 242 mm long, fits cars with engines up to 2.0 liters.
3. 66-78 amperes, 278 mm long, fits cars with engines up to 3.2 liters.
4. 80-85 amperes, 315 mm long, fits cars with engines up to 3.7 liters.
More powerful engines already require a battery with a capacity of 90-100 amperes and a length of 353 mm.
To determine which one in the same size, for example, from the sixties with a length of 242 mm suits you, and there are usually three different capacities offered: 56, 60, and 65, take into account both the volume and the equipment with electrical consumers (air conditioning, heating, music system), also consider the operating mode of your vehicle. This is a standard solution, but there are nuances: with small daily runs or trips a couple of times a week, it is enough to purchase a battery with the same capacity as before, 55 amperes. And with active use of the car, especially in taxi mode, you can install a more powerful sixty, different manufacturers may have 60, 62, and 63 amperes, the number is not important, the main thing is that there is an increased starting current of more than 600 A (En). By the same principle, calculate batteries for yourself in other sizes.
In the case of diesel engines, the requirements for the battery are higher; do not buy economy and standard class for diesel cars, only premium segment with the highest cold cranking current; if Varta, then only Silver Dynamic, if Bosch, then the S5 series.
