For cars with diesel engines, the OKKO network traditionally keeps two fuel options in its assortment for the cold season: Euro diesel, which guarantees stable operation of the power unit down to -20°C (such fuel is available at all 400 gas stations in the network), and Pulls Diesel Arctic, which is more resistant to severe frosts and does not lose fluidity at -32°C (it can be found at 242 gas stations).

By using winter-grade diesel, drivers avoid one of the most common seasonal troubles — the freezing and crystallization of diesel fuel in the fuel line. At the same time, the Arctic version allows starting the engine without long attempts even in severe cold. The detergent and protective additives, which are also part of Pulls Diesel Arctic, help remove deposits from the fuel system, extend engine life, and add power. However, when choosing a specific grade of diesel, one should remember: the actual outdoor temperature in gusty wind or high humidity may feel and be lower than the thermometer shows.

If diesel car owners are well aware of the need to switch to winter fuel in time, for gasoline cars the difference between summer and winter fuel is not so obvious. Nevertheless, OKKO, striving to ensure the safety and convenience of its visitors, switches to winter grades of gasoline with the onset of frost: in deteriorating weather conditions, it is extremely important that every driver feels confident on the road after refueling. On an icy road, in side wind, or in other difficult situations, winter fuel helps the car maintain power and responsiveness in handling. Moreover, it saves the budget — according to experts, using summer gasoline in winter due to less complete combustion leads to an overconsumption of 3-5%.

“When frost sets in, a motorist needs to solve two main tasks — change tires to winter ones and switch to winter fuel. Only then will he feel calm behind the wheel. But if every driver can put winter tires in the garage in advance, truly winter fuels can only be found at gas stations that have confirmed their reliability for years and have fine-tuned the entire supply chain and quality control of petroleum products,” says Vasyl Dmytryv, head of the marketing department of the OKKO network.
