Both cars earned the maximum five stars, however, the safety level of the Mercedes, of course, turned out to be noticeably higher.

The E-Class was just a little short of perfect scores — 95% for adult occupant safety and 90% for children. The rating for electronic assistants was reduced because the base version does not provide a lane keeping assist function.

In the new Peugeot 3008, the driver's chest protection turned out to be weaker, so it only got 86%. Although the crossover was equipped with a lane keeping system, it did not rise above the Mercedes, because it lacked a more significant option — automatic braking, which the sedan already offers in the base trim.
