Event guests got the chance not only to personally verify the durability of all brand models, but also to take a ride with the famous pilot.
Over two days, Mitsubishi car tests took place near Kyiv, in which anyone could participate. The first day was dedicated to representatives of the Ukrainian media — they talked with the world celebrity at a press conference, asked him about his career and professional driving techniques, and also tested every model off-road. More than fifty automotive journalists followed every maneuver of the pilot, accompanied him on the off-road track, and assessed how well the cars were prepared for such conditions.
On the second day, after prior registration, participants could test the cars both independently and paired with Hiroshi Masuoka at high speed. More than 250 visitors from morning to evening tested the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Mitsubishi L200, and Mitsubishi Outlander on a special track featuring diagonal hanging, log decks, and 30-degree inclines — all of which helped to feel the capabilities of the cars on different types of rough terrain. A separate, more complex route with extreme obstacles was prepared for the racer, where he tried out the new Pajero Sport and L200. Notably, no car was modified for such tests — they were all regular production versions sold in Ukraine.
“It is a great honor for us to host such a legendary athlete in Ukraine. Over his career, which spans more than 30 years, he has become one of the few to have won on all continents. Hiroshi Masuoka also participates in the creation of new Mitsubishi models, so no one better than him can show the power and reliability of our cars. Masuoka-san admitted that he really liked Ukraine and would gladly come again next year,” shared Hiroaki Ozawa, General Director of the official Mitsubishi distributor, “MMC Ukraine”.
