The initiative to open a self-service car wash came from customer requests, so our network decided to fulfill their wishes, comments Nazar Turkhan, head of the development department of the OKKO filling station network. Such a car wash has a number of significant advantages. First, washing a car in a properly equipped bay is much more convenient and environmentally friendly than doing it in your garage near your home. Second, self-service car wash services are cheaper than automatic or manual car washes operated by an attendant. And another important advantage is that the customer can control the process themselves, changing modes at their own discretion from applying active foam to coating with hot wax depending on the existing need.
The OKKO network invested more than 4 million hryvnias in the setup of the new car wash. Thanks to this, modern energy-efficient and ergonomic equipment of the German brand Otto Christ with a wide range of program functions has been installed in a specially designated area at the filling station. The customer can use one of them or several at once. Here you can wash your car using active foam (it effectively removes dirt from the body and parts) or shampoo (it rinses off active foam and remaining dirt); rinse it with demineralized water so that no white streaks remain; apply car wax to the surface to provide additional shine and protection, or simply refresh the car with cold water, as well as vacuum the interior or remove insect remains. All that is needed is to insert the purchased token and select the required program. The program will automatically set the time and its remaining amount for each of the modes.
By the end of 2016, OKKO plans to open another self-service car wash, this time in Lviv. In total, the network currently has 28 portal car washes for passenger cars, 2 for trucks, 1 tunnel portal car wash, and 19 manual car washes, as well as 1 car wash for bicycles.
