The prototype is based on the Wrangler in the Sport trim, equipped with a 3.6-liter six-cylinder Pentastar engine and a six-speed manual transmission. The car has had its roof, doors, and B-pillar removed, and it is painted in the same green color as the military Willys.
In addition, the car features steel bumpers with tow hooks, a hood with external latches, a spare wheel mounted at the rear, and 16-inch steel wheels with 32-inch tires with a non-directional tread pattern, as well as canvas-covered seats with concave backs.

The next-generation Jeep Wrangler will arrive next year. The model will lose its solid axles, retain its body-on-frame construction, but will feature an aluminum body. The model will also offer versions with a four-cylinder engine, a diesel, and a hybrid powertrain.
