Continental Automotive System, a company that produces airbags, has announced a recall of five million electronic control units used in cars of certain brands.
These units, manufactured from 2006 to 2010, were installed in vehicles over the past five years. Due to a detected defect, two scenarios are possible: either the airbags will not deploy in a collision, or they will deploy without reason.
So far, the exact list of models affected by the issue has not been published. But according to preliminary data, we are talking about five million or more vehicles.
