In January 2016, 82 thousand cars were sold on the Russian market — this is one of the lowest figures in the last seven years.
As Kommersant reports, Mitsubishi sales halved, while Citroen saw a drop of 60%. At the same time, only a few brands managed to show growth: Ford added 25%, and Suzuki increased sales by approximately the same amount.
According to preliminary data, in January the Russian car market fell by 29% compared to the same month a year earlier. The situation was worse only in January 2010. Thus, analysts note that the past January turned out to be almost record-breakingly unsuccessful for the industry over the past seven years.
