An American actor will become the first foreign host in all 39 years of the show's existence on television. However, the choice of producers and BBC management was not made without reason.
Firstly, Matt is quite a charismatic and recognizable person far beyond his homeland. Secondly, he knows cars well and can drive excellently. Proof of this is the fact that while visiting Top Gear in 2012, LeBlanc set a lap record in a budget car. He completed the track in 1 minute 42 seconds – this indicator remains the best in Top Gear history!
