According to initial data, such software is likely present in 85 thousand cars. It is clarified that the situation concerns the American market and models such as Volkswagen Touareg, Audi A6, A8, Q5 and Porsche Cayenne.
It is also noteworthy that the American side has questions about Volkswagen's gasoline engines as well. If the fact of manipulation with emission data is confirmed in this case as well, the company may face possibly the largest recall campaign in history. In addition, Volkswagen risks facing a record fine, the amount of which could reach tens of billions of dollars.
It is worth recalling that the scandal around Volkswagen was named "Dieselgate", and its starting point was the concern's understating of diesel engine emission indicators.
