Although Yuriy Lutsenko, when he was Minister of Internal Affairs, stated that such plates should be surrendered and destroyed, plates of these series have survived to this day. And the "privileges" for their owners, apparently, continued to be provided.
And now the new head of the State Automobile Inspectorate, Anatoliy Sirenko, stated that inspectors will no longer provide privileges to owners of such plates. "With full responsibility, I declare that in Ukraine there are no so-called 'cool' license plates that would grant owners of such cars immunity against fines for traffic violations. Today, plates with a certain letter or number combination should mean nothing to a traffic inspector, and I demand that my employees, in accordance with the law, stop and bring to responsibility any violator, regardless of what plates are on their car," said Anatoliy Sirenko.
One can only hope that the same fate will befall the owners of "golden" business cards.
