The sharp jump in the exchange rate forced many importers to suspend car sales, waiting for the currency to stabilize. Car prices must be coordinated with the head office, which takes some time.

In order not to lose money due to the rising exchange rate, some dealers decided to take a pause and are waiting for the currency to stabilize. We have already written that the company 'Eurocar' has suspended car sales in Ukraine. You cannot buy a car even if you bring cash in hryvnias to the dealership!

There are some difficulties with other brands as well. Thus, the Chevrolet dealer is ready to sell any model, provided it is in stock. Sellers do not want to deal with delivering the needed car from other regions, fearing to expose the valuable goods to unnecessary risk at this time.

The Mazda dealer stated that there are only three cars in stock, and it is not yet possible to place an order for the desired model, as there is no new price list. However, the Honda dealer is ready to sell any car from its price list, and promises the client a special benefit from the deal, as prices are fixed at the rate of 8.2 per dollar.

The Nissan dealer reported that car prices are set in dollars and expressed in hryvnias at the NBU exchange rate. Accordingly, with each change in the NBU exchange rate, price lists for cars change. In February, specifically to protect their clients from unnecessary overpayments related to exchange rate differences, Nissan fixed prices for already imported cars at the rate of 1 USD = 7.99 UAH.

Perhaps the situation will soon normalize, as the new head of the National Bank, Stepan Kubiv, promises to stabilize the hryvnia exchange rate at around 10 UAH per dollar in the very near future.

AutoPortal has sent a corresponding request to importers; we will inform our readers about changes in the new car market situation.
