The Kyiv City State Administration has decided to restrict the entry of heavy trucks into the capital. This is due to last year's situation when heavy precipitation practically halted traffic in the city. Loaded trucks in such conditions block main highways, create massive traffic jams, and hinder the work of snow removal equipment.

The administration noted that the ban will only be in effect during the daytime, and at night trucks will be able to cross the city without hindrance. If urgent or perishable goods need to be transported, such vehicles will be provided with an escort and the most convenient route will be chosen.

The new rules may come into force in the near future: weather forecasters warn of imminent snowfall not only in Kyiv but also in the northern and eastern regions of Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that city authorities also plan to divide central parking lots into even and odd. This will be done so that utility workers can clear the streets of snow in a timely manner.
