The project is being implemented as a joint venture with the participation of the Chinese company Geely. For the Chinese side, this site will become a base for supplying cars to the markets of Eastern and Western Europe. Total investment in the project is estimated at about $650 million.

At full capacity, the BelGee joint venture will be able to produce up to 120 thousand cars annually. Currently, 2.5 thousand cars have come off the assembly line, and the country's president personally tested both models, paying special attention to the Geely Emgrand X7 crossover.

As Alexander Lukashenko stated, the Geely SL sedan and the Geely Emgrand X7 SUV are exactly what Belarusians expected. The head of state puts this project on a par with the space program and the construction of a nuclear power plant, emphasizing its importance for the entire industry of the country.
