Urban Tabby is an experimental development by an Italian company, with the main focus on a simple design and an inexpensive set of components. The final price of the Urban Tabby kit will range from 4,000 to 6,000 euros — the exact amount will depend on the chosen engine type.

Externally, the car looks quite simple and unpretentious, however, according to the creators, its technical parameters meet the standards required for vehicles, so the car can be safely used on public roads. The customer will be able to choose one of three powertrain options: electric, hybrid, or a conventional gasoline engine — the final price will depend on this.

With a gasoline or hybrid engine, the maximum speed will be 45 km/h, while the fully electric version will be able to accelerate to 85 km/h. However, the electric car's range is limited to 90 kilometers, whereas the hybrid will travel up to 400 kilometers on a single fill-up. The project authors have also prepared a video showing two people assembling the car from the kit in just 40 minutes. If desired, the customer can order a ready-to-use car, but this will require an additional payment.

The first kits are expected to go on sale as early as this spring.
