Last year, the period during which a car with foreign registration could remain on the territory of Ukraine without customs clearance was reduced from twelve months to twenty days. These changes were introduced to eliminate the possibility of permanent use of vehicles with license plates from other countries.
Recently, traffic police inspectors have practically paid no attention to cars with foreign license plates. However, this is not due to a relaxation of requirements for drivers, but because law enforcement officers already had enough workload. Nevertheless, the department has not forgotten about such vehicles and is already preparing new raids aimed at their detention and seizure.

The traffic police, in turn, claim that the updated legal norms make it possible to effectively combat such cars, and by the beginning of autumn they should completely leave Ukrainian roads.
