The press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate reported that they are aware of a new hobby among drivers who stick the abbreviation of the European Union on license plates instead of the coat of arms and flag of Ukraine. This practice is recognized as illegal, and a fine of 255 to 340 hryvnias is provided for it.

Correspondents of AvtoPortal turned to lawyers to find out what consequences replacing Ukrainian symbols on car plates may have and whether inspectors have the right to stop and detain vehicles with such markings.
